Fun, vivid and unique newborn photos taken by Savvy Images.
Sweet and sassy little River is already four and a half years old!! After sharing her families photos on my last blog, I just had to revisit and show off her newborn photos. You can see, she has clearly been a bundle of sunshine since her early days. River was born in Austin, and I lived in Houston at the time. So, I am beyond grateful I had the opportunity to capture all her cuteness.
I didn’t have my typical mobile newborn set up for her session, as I do for most the newborn sessions I do in home, but we made magic regardless. And her incredibly handsome big brother Carter, was SO PROUD to show his new baby off. Though his attention span may have been the length expected of a spunky little man, he was so excited to be a part of sisters first photo shoot.
Watching these two grow up has been so fun. Just as I would have predicted four and a half years ago, their sweet and sassy gal is thoroughly spoiled by her daddy and big brother. In fact, this girl most certainly keeps everyone on their toes with her powerful little personality. Her momma’s heart may be full, but her hands…LOL. Someone may need to send a little help. ;-)

It was no question, Baby Emma was going to be a stunning little Lady when she finally made her arrival. After taking her mom’s maternity photos on the beach in Half Moon Bay, I knew she would be just as photogenic. And oh the sweet goodness, was she ever! No disappointment there. What a little angel.
As I love (and recommend) doing, we planned her mom’s maternity photo session months in advance, so it goes without saying, we had everything lined up for her newborn session also. Being planned so far in advance, her newborn photo session was much anticipated.
There was no missing this sweet girl’s photo debut, but you can never REALLY plan for all the cuteness when the time actually comes. She was so content. As all my new parents tend to find out, their new little bundle will direct their newborn session. Sweet Emma decided when she was ready, and when she needed a snack break. Easy.
We spent a good amount of time together during their maternity session. I could tell right off, that her dad was such a loving husband and that he was going to be SUCH a good dad. Yep. Emma had her Daddy wrapped around his finger before day one. Boy, is he ever in trouble! She clearly inherited her momma’s lips. Can we just go ahead and imagine she’ll get her dad’s sea blue eyes also! Just woah. What a beautiful, photogenic family!
An incredibly unique detail about Baby Emma is that her dad is from Canada and her mom is from Peru. SO, it was only appropriate their sweet girl should be born on the 4th of July, here in the United States! Of course, we had to capture that in a fun photo. I expect this gal will be doing some traveling in her future! I love incorporating meaningful details like this in each of my families photo sessions.
If you’re located in the San Francisco Bay Area and expecting a new little Bundle of Love, please contact me to customize your perfect maternity and newborn photo sessions!
After moving to San Francisco I started following and connecting with other seemingly likeminded Mommas over social media. Being brand new in town with two little ones and no family or friends around is hard. Especially, for someone who is normally extremely outgoing. I knew there just HAD to be other moms in a similar situation! There is so much to see and explore around San Francisco, and everyone knows life is way more fun with friends.
Fast forward several months… I saw that one of the fun mom’s I followed and randomly exchanged comments with on Instagram had just welcomed her brand new babe! Childcare for my Littles was finally established and we’d gotten into a great little groove.
I needed to test out my new posing set up, as well as create some beautiful new website content. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do exactly that, so I reached out to her and within a few hours, we were all set to shoot! You guys… her sweet babe!!
My posing set up turned out to be a total disappointment (and has since been redesigned), but this cute Babe was allllllll the cuteness possible. Just check out her perfect little nose!
This beautiful new Babe hit the jackpot, because not only does she have a fun Mom, she also has a super proud and loving Big Sister to snuggle with!
Just as I hoped and expected, after this photo session and finally meeting in person, we’ve become brand new adventure friends! Our older Little Ladies were immediate besties, and we’ve explored several fun spots around San Francisco together. I look forward to more fun in the future and seeing these pretty Babes blossom into lovely young girls!
Before I even met her, I knew Cora Quinn was going to be a precious bundle of perfection. It was clear once I did, she is a little beauty, just like her Momma. Her gorgeous momma’s bluebonnet maternity photo session a few months earlier was just that… gorgeous. (Missed it? Click HERE) I had a sneaking suspicion her newborn photos session would go the same way. She was exactly two weeks young the day of her session. Just expected for her age, Cora was a very alert little gal. She wasn’t going for any birthday suit photos, but that was okay by us! She preferred to be all swaddled up, so we captured her cuteness just as she wished.
As you can see, this sweet girl has SUCH a cute nursery. I am glad we were able to incorporate her teepee and dresser into her photos. It will be cool to look back on these in several months to see how much she’s grow in such a short period of time! Because Grandma was there to help out, we snuck her into a few photos also. As a result, you can find my new favorite ‘generations’ photo below! Gorgeous, stunning, beautiful, precious. I could go on and on here. We also took cute family photos outside, as Mom and Dad spend lots of time there, living on the outskirts of town. And the must have image for the session… Daddy and Baby Cora on his John Deere tractor. Heart melting cuteness. I have NO doubt one day she’ll actually ride around on it with him in a few years.
Lillian was exactly 7 days old and pure perfection during her newborn photos session. She was the little lady (along with her mom) who were ‘showered’ with magazine worthy Baby Shower details not too long ago. I’ve known her Mother for MANY years, so her arrival was much anticipated for many reasons! Born at 20 inches long, this sweet girl had the cutest little feet. During her photo session, she took a cuddle/snack break to nurse, and I couldn’t resist snapping a few photos. Don’t worry, the only thing being revealed were her cute little toes! After filling her belly she dozed off into dreamland, and was the perfect little newborn model for us. We take breaks when needed because it’s important to make sure newbies are as content as possible during their sessions. Little Diva! ;-P Being a model is hard work.
Normally I have a hard time deciding if babes look more like their mom or dad, but Lillian (at this time) clearly resembled her Mom to me. Though, I’m sure that will change back and forth many times. Either way, I look forward to seeing how little Lilly blossoms as she grows up. Being loved as she is, and having a precious smile like hers, she is destined to be a happy kiddo. We used her nursery bedding in the last few ‘Nitey Nite’ photos. For Mom and Dad’s sake, lets hope she grows up sleeping really well, like she did during this session! If not, at least they have photos of her doing so. I doubt that helps in the moment, but at least she’s darn cute! ;-)
Miss Georgia and her gorgeous momma came to the Savvy Images studio and I did not want her newborn photo session to end. There is the obvious (that they’re both complete beauties). Then, they are also both also very easy going. AND then, mega bonus… mom brought sooooo many cute little props, headbands and outfits to take photos in. Even at eight days young, she was still a teeny little bit, so we didn’t fit in and use near as many as we would have liked to. But just KNOW that this gal has stellar options for future photo sessions! Even the little outfit she came to the session in was precious. Like mother, like daughter. This cutie will be styling! After all, her nursery was featured on the Project Nursery Instagram account and the Caden Lane Facebook page before she was even born. I styled her (mostly pink) newborn photos to compliment her navy and pink ballerina themed room. And the adorable little crown was the perfect touch for this little princess. All her photos look like a dream together in Mom’s session brag book and I’m dying to see how they display her stunning canvas. It’s only been a month and I already cannot WAIT to capture her cute little toes as she gets bigger and fits into some of those other cute outfits! More perfection to come from these pretty ladies. One of these days, we’ll even convince Georgia’s dad and big brother to join in on the photo fun. ;-)
I’m very excited to introduce handsome little Drew to all of you! Even though his newborn photo session was planned several months in advance, it was actually in the works for over a couple years. I can explain… His gorgeous Momma contacted me to do his big brother’s newborn photos just as we decided to move to Alaska two and a half years ago. Because of our move, it clearly didn’t happen. My kind of heartbreak. Fast forward two years and two VERY handsome little men later, I finally had the opportunity to capture her beautiful growing family. Big Brother (as ALL big brothers are) was an adorable, energetic little handful. He wasn’t a huge fan of being in front of the camera at the time, but we still managed to snag some really cute images of him with his new baby bro! It was such a pleasure to capture all of Drew’s cute little baby details. Oh.my.goodness…his eyelashes were perfection! Mom and Dad are going to have their hands full with these two handsome little fellas in several years. But at least they’ll have these photos to reminisce on just how precious they were as wee wittle guys!
I couldn’t imagine a better way to announce my official return from {my very extended} maternity leave, than by showing off the very reason… my reason, my feisty little surprise, my perfect little Savvy Newbie model. Scotty Grace Noel. She was determined to be an Alaskan and made her grand entrance into this chaotic world shortly after our stunning Maternity Photo Session with Dolce Vita Photo Boutique. As you can clearly see in the photos below, she has quite a large little personality. Our world has changed in so many ways and this little Mini is proving to keep us on our toes! Taking my own newborn photos was a bit challenging for so many reasons, but looking back on the photos now, is absolutely priceless. It was the very beginning of all her silly little smiles and pout pout faces that I would get to know so well. Seeing her grow into those expressions has made my heart grow more than I ever imagined possible.
Scotty’s fur sister Reis kept trying to make her way into the newborn photo session, while still keeping a bit of distance. She wasn’t completely sure about her new little human just yet, but if she was going to participate, we had to make it darn cute! My one newborn photo goal was a HUGE success and I’m SO glad that I was able to capture several cute photos of my two little Loves being adorable together!
The ‘froggy’ pose above was dad’s only newborn photo request. I’m pretty sure he only wanted to see if I could actually do it. Pffft. Of course. As I mention in my blog post ‘Timing for Perfect Newborn Photos’, photographing older newborns can be difficult. Lucky for him, my persistence and determination paid off. ;-)
I mean seriously, look at that sass!! Because being a new mom is exhausting, and we had a gazillion things going on at that time, every morning we’d wake up eventually and do a pose or two, then call it a day. You can tell toward the end that she has just about had enough, and she was also becoming more aware of my shenanigans!
We were very fortunate to have our good friend, Rob Siciliano of Far North Photos, take the family photos of us below. It was a rough afternoon for Scotty, but thanks to him, we were able to make the most of it.
Now that I’m officially back to work, PLEASE spread the word to ALL your friend in the Houston area. With the big news about relocating to Houston soon AND our cute little newbie cover model gracing the cover of Alaska Parent Magazine’s spring issue, this has been a REALLY exciting month for Savvy Images. I’m extremely proud of our recent publication, and had to share it with those of you that aren’t in Alaska. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect send off, than having one of our photos featured on the cover their ANNUAL BABY ISSUE!! It just goes to show that Savvy Images really DOES have the most amazing clients!! Working with each and every one of them makes me extremely happy. This photo came to life ALL because of a session ‘brainstorming’ consultation with this little guy’s mom. His last name is Sparrow, so she threw the ‘nest’ idea out there into our mix. You better believe that I quickly ran like crazy with it. I didn’t have anything that even resembled a cute little newborn nest at the time, but I certainly figured out a way to happen for her. And am I EVER so glad that I did. After a quick trip to the local craft store, and a pretty simple DIY craft project… we were all set with a cute little newborn photo prop nest! Not only does she have incredibly unique newborn photos to document all her little cuties perfect details, BUT he can now put Magazine Cover Model on his resume! ;-P That’s all fine and great, but what makes me even happier, is the fact that this handsome little guy and his awesome momma are STILL current Savvy Images’ clients. That says a lot, AND means the world to me! If you’d like to see how much he’s grown up, check out the photos from their latest photo session this past fall. So cute with such a BIG little personality, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to show him off!!And on another (but related) note, our cute Pregnancy Announcement photo that our friend Rob Siciliano, from Far North Photos took, was also published on page 40 of this same issue of Alaska Parent Magazine! It was in an article about all the creative ways to reveal and announce your exciting pregnancy and/or gender news. I’m soooo exciting that we were a part of that!!
