erin greene designs - austin portrait photographerThis beautiful lady is Erin Greene. If you are looking for a fantastic interior designer in the San Francisco area, look no further than Erin Greene Designs. I connected with her shortly after moving to the area and am so glad I did. Little did either of us realize how much we would have in common before working together. Quality over quantity. Work hard play hard. Self care is non-negotiable. Positive vibes only. Healthy, living simply. Love and kindness to all. So many of the ways!erin greene designs - austin portrait photographerThough it may not be the most important, one of my favorites, is that we’re both huge fans of supporting and working with other creative, hardworking mompreaneaurs whenever possible. She even prides herself in finding and featuring local artists in her design work. You should really take a moment to check out Katie Gong’s gorgeous woodwork shown in the photos below! Not only is she prompt, kind, passionate, detailed and has all the important characteristics of being a great small business owner.

This gal has an EYE for design!!

erin greene designs - austin portrait photographerI had the opportunity to work with her on two different projects while living in the San Francisco area and I absolutely LOVED them both. Her vision is analogous to luxury meets modern minimalistic, with a splash of vivid color and a twist of airy organic vibes. Absolutely my jam.erin greene designs - austin portrait photographerIf you are a fun, creative, momma looking to document your upcoming motherhood moments OR your passion put to work in the Austin area, please get in touch with Chasity now.

    Austin Portrait Photographer | Unapologetic

unapologetic savvy images - austin photographer

This spunky young girl is completely unapologetic. I’m interrupting my usual blog jam, sharing cute babies and families, to share something a bit different today. And just like Renee here, I’m apologetic for doing so. Her senior photo session pushed both of us a bit out of our comfort zones and I loved every single second of it.

During her Pre Session Consultation she and her mom had completely different visions for her senior photo session. We sat at a picnic table together outside Radio Coffee in Austin one day, going over allll the things. Renee wanted a super casual urban hipster vibe. Her mom wanted a classic, natural setting. And I had a really good idea of how to bring both their visions to life after our meeting. The consultation also gave me the opportunity to get to know Renee a little bit better before photographing her. She is a little bit shy, but not one bit afraid to speak up for what she really wants. But with that being said, she was kind and flexible enough to accommodate her mom’s wishes also. I’m confident all the mommas out there understand just how that works! ;-)unapologeticRegardless of what type of photography session I’m doing, my goal is always to document a wide variety of photos for my clients. To capture all the unique details of THEIR story. I would prefer my clients have a dozen+ photos they absolutely LOVE, to showcase proudly all throughout their homes. Rather than eighty+ mediocre images that may sit on a hard drive somewhere. In their case, I wanted to make sure their were a good variety of photos that they BOTH loved equally. A week or two after their photo session, we met again for their photo reveal. At this point, I apply basic edits to all of the photos in their gallery. We sat down together to review, select and prioritize their favorite images. This process can seem a bit overwhelming. Therefore, I find it’s SO much better to do this in person. Based on details that you prefer, I can help guide you to select the best portrait Collection to showcase your photo session. It’s funny, with the exception of just a few, Renee and her mom actually agreed on almost all the same images!unapologetic - savvy imagesAfter their photo reveal, I took the images they chose for their Photo Collection and apply more extensive edits. I love the variety that the two of them agreed on together! In my humble opinion, vivid, color photos are normally life. But for a few of theirs, I just couldn’t resist adding a few with a crisp, clean, black and white edits. It’s something about her mesmerizing eyes! Or maybe that sassy smile we had to work for. ;-)

Either way, she is unapologetic and rocking both.Chasity Noel specializes in documenting all your important motherhood moments. Even if that means taking photos of your big baby starting the first big chapter in their life. When you book your portrait session with Savvy Images, we will also set up a PreSession Consultation to brainstorm and design what fits your unique need/story. Whatever your vision is, Chasity will help set your photos up for success! From first hello to final artwork, we are confident you won’t be disappointed.

      Core Pilates Studio Anchorage

      Portraits

This blog post isn’t about showing off beautiful photos, as much as it is a raving review for Core Pilates Studio, here in Anchorage. I joined Core not too much longer after we moved here in the summer of 2013, and can’t speak highly enough about them! After all my many years of cheer and dance, running doesn’t work out well on my knees, and I just can’t handle the slow pace of (most) yoga classes. My goal was to find a fitness facility nearby, that offered a variety of classes at different intensity levels, that I LOVED. I mean, we all know that when it’s dark and freezing out, you really need to love your workout as much as possible to keep motivated and committed. After trying several places around town, Core Pilates unanimously won my heart. I’ll be honest, a membership there is not cheap, but I can say without a SHADOW of a doubt, that it is worth EVERY penny. There are THREE things that I contribute my (mostly) smooth pregnancy to… my Snoogle pregnancy pillow, my incredibly supportive husband, and Core Pilates! In no particular order, of course. ;-) I’m 100% confident that keeping my core strong, has everything to do with feeling so good (and aligned) as my baby belly takes over. Did I mention that they have wonderful Massage Therapists on hand also!? Major perk for my aching back there. The folks at Core REALLY know their stuff. They don’t just tell you what to do, they show you AND they make sure you understand WHY it’s best done that way. With my sporadic knee issues, the instructors always have great modifications ready when I need them. And even more recently (even pretty early in my pregnancy), they have been BEYOND wonderful with even more extensive modifications as my body changes. Being high risk, I never in a million years would have thought I would be ‘working out’ in my third trimester, but they make that possible. Now, almost everything I that I do in the classes I attend is modified, BUT I’m keeping active at an intensity level that’s best for me. That alone confirms they kick A$$. Lets be clear, they are certainly not brain readers, so you HAVE to communicate with each of them to get the best out of your workout and membership. Be sure to let them know that a) you are new and/or just need clearer instruction b) you have an injury and/or would like a modification c) an exercise doesn’t feel right for some reason d) you just straight up have constructive feedback on something they’re doing in class. There isn’t an instructor on the payroll there that isn’t always pushing themselves and their clients to do their best. Just another reason that I’m sad to be leaving Anchorage! I can imagine that it’s going to be so hard to find a new studio that I love this much in Houston. Seriously, they’re so awesome, that I’ve actually even become friends with several of them. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph their studio and lovely staff over the past couple of months, and I wanted to take a few minutes to brag on them! Some of them are showing off some of their more difficult moves in the photos below, so if you have NO clue what Pilates is, I assure you it’s not that intimidating at all. ;-) If you live anywhere near south Anchorage, and are looking for a new work out, definitely check Core Pilates out soon. You can find a list and description of their classes here, and they even offer a free beginners intro class at 9am on Saturdays. Be sure to try all the many different classes out. Once you figure out which one’s you love, you can get signed up for them online or with their handy app in advance. Just as they should, the good classes fill up quickly. ;-)

      Mrs Alaska 2013

      Portraits

As the official photographer for the Miss Alaska Junior High, High School & Collegiate Pageant, and also the Mrs Alaska America Pageant, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and photographing MANY beautiful young ladies over the last several months. Not too terribly long ago, the current Mrs Alaska America, Gwynnedolynne James contacted me to take photos of her and her husband before handing off her title as Mrs Alaska. At first I was a little intrigued with her wishes to have her husband join along in her Queen portraits, but half way thru her session, having him participate made ABSOLUTE sense to me. And I am SO glad that he did. I already quickly figured out that she was beautiful inside and out. But barely knowing them for a just a couple hours, it was clear that he was her rock, and she was able to do such a great job holding the title of Mrs Alaska because of all his unconditional love and support. Not only did he completely and fully adore her (which was amazing to see), but THEY made an amazing TEAM together. As I’ve gotten to know them a tad bit more over time, I’ve learned something… Their marriage – and partnership – and pride – and attitude towards life is truly exceptional. They carry themselves and BELIEVE that standing by each other’s side that ANYthing is possible. Earlier I mention that he adored his Queen, but Gwynnedolynne definitely cherishes the heck out of him also. He is her King. It’s them against the world, and nothing is going to get in their way! THIS is what real partnership is all about. I guess that’s what you learn after eight years of marriage!? I am thrilled for them to have these important photographs together, and also eager to receive the HUGE beautiful wrapped canvas they ordered of themselves in a couple weeks. I have no doubt it will look amazing in their home! In the meantime, Gwynnedolynne will be passing her crown off to the new Mrs Alaska this weekend. I can’t wait to see all the ladies and their hubs decked out together, and find out who the new 2014 Mrs Alaska is going to be!Mrs Alaska 2013 - Savvy Images - Anchorage Professional Photographer

Siciliano Photography of Far North Photos

      Portraits

Since moving to Anchorage last July, I have been very fortunate to network with lots of great photographers here. I’m even more excited that THIS Professional Photographer and I have actually become friends! Most of you may know by now, that I am on a serious “friends make life way more fun kick”, and this clearly further proves my point. This is Rob, the Co-Owner of Far North Photos. He and his wife Candice take some really amazing Alaskan Wildlife and Northern Lights photographs! You may remember them from their Bittersweet FurBaby Photo Session not too long ago. Well Rob has been working on something pretty big for a while, and they are finally ready to share their excitement with everyone… He has decided to broaden his reach as a Professional Real Estate Photographer here in Anchorage! His website { Robert Siciliano Real Estate Photography } was good to go, but he just needed updated photos of himself to show his new clients a little more about they person they would be working with. I was exited to hear about his new venture as a Professional Photographer, and extremely excited to be a tiny part of it. Just as their wildlife photos, his real estate photos are STUNNING. If you have ever tried to sell your home, you have to know that having great photos of it makes a HUGE difference. And even more so, if you know of anyone that could use his services, please be sure to forward this blog post along (his contact information is below)! Though you may not see many of them, I shoot quiet a few professional head shot portraits. Since Rob even had a cool story to go along with his, I just had to share them, as well as his big news. As a Professional Photographer, I know how weird it can be on the other end of the camera sometimes, but he did great. It started to sprinkle a bit during his session, but the light was just amazing! At least it didn’t actually rain, and now he has plenty of great photos to use in all his new real estate photography materials!Professional Head Shots in Anchorage, Alaska By Savvy Images
