After having one of my photos published in Edible Austin Magazine last spring, Savvy Images was invited to participate in an invite only photography contest called Picture the Children: Children and their Food. The Whole Kids Foundation (of Whole Foods) partnered up with an organization called The Children’s Environmental Health Institute (CEHI), to challenge the way we look at children and their food. Incredibly excited about the opportunity, I selected a handful of adorable kiddos to participate in a styled “healthy snacking” shoot. And even more exciting… One of the photos from that session (shown below and titled ‘Sweet Delight’), was selected to be included in the nationwide 2012 Picture the Children Exhibit, which starts right here in Austin! I’m so grateful that sassy little Avery’s favorite summer snack is watermelon!
The exhibit will debut on October 25th at Dell Children’s Hospital during the Seventh Biennial Scientific Symposium of the Children’s Environmental Health Institute. After the meeting ends, the exhibit will travel to the Whole Foods Market corporate headquarters, also right here in Austin. But Austin is only the beginning of the journey, as the exhibit will visit the Whole Food Markets in New York, Boston, Seattle, Portland, and Atlanta over the next several months! The same week as the CEHI Symposium, it will also be featured as a 2012 Food Day Event (a nationwide celebration and a movement toward more healthy, affordable, and sustainable food). And last but not least this exciting exhibit will be celebrated at a Children’s Picnic event in April 2013, hosted by CEHI and other community partners.
This is VERY exciting news for Savvy Images, and I just had to take a moment to share it with you. If you are in any of the citied listed above, please stay tuned for the exhibit schedule. Hopefully there will be even more exciting news, and photos to come!

Chasity,
Have you seen the exhibit yet? I guess I’ve got to get down to Whole Foods… Any word on when/how long it’s here?
Thanks! :)

You should be proud. ;-) I went to see the opening exhibit at Dell Children’s Hospital, but I haven’t made it to Whole Foods yet. It should be there now, but I don’t know for how long. I’ll see if I can’t find anything out, and if I do, I’ll let you know! And you let me know if you guys need any family holiday photos. =)
